Hollow Polyester Fiber
Hollow Fibers are a group of polyester staple fibers with a hole inside the core which is produced using special spinneret. They are mostly used in the manufacturing of products which need high bulk and resiliency.
From the raw material point of view, they are divided into two categories. Hollow Virgin fibers and Hollow Recycled fibers.
Virgin Fibers are produced by moulding from polyethene terephthalate melt. But, recycled Fibers are the result of moulding from recycled PET flakes melt.
Depending on the final application of the fibers, manufacturer might add some silicon to fibers or not. Silicon helps fibers slip easier on each other.
Applications of Hollow Conjugated Siliconized (HCS):
- Production of synthetic fillers for pillows and blankets
- Manufacture of clothes, toys
- Production of elements of upholstered furniture
Applications of Hollow Conjugated Non-Siliconized Fibers (HCnS):
- Mattress materials of furniture industry
- Clothing industry
- Fillers for duvets and pillows
